Primary care providers are poised to play a critical role in reducing the rate of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and ending new HIV infections in the state of Oregon. Dr. Melissa Murphy will provide an overview of recent epidemiological trends in Eastern Oregon, review the most up to date STI screening and treatment guidelines and recommendations, and demonstrate why Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), non-occupational Post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP) , Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT), and extra-genital screening are important tools for addressing health disparities and promoting health equity. The content of this training will be presented with a clinical audience in mind.
